Impressive wall map on six separate sheets presenting the Holy Land divided into the twelve tribes of Israel. The map was published in volume six of Jansson's Novus Atlas Accuratissimia Orbis Antiqui Delineatio and accompanied by a descriptive historical essay by Georg Horn. Based on Christian van Adrichom's Situs Terrae Promissionis of 1590, the topography is wonderfully scattered with illustrations of biblical events from the Old and New Testament, here richly treated with original-hand color.
